Due to the strange spring weather, this year's blueberry crop is at an all time low. However, we have a small bush of a different variety that blooms later on, and it has been a great snack to pick on our way back from the walks.
When returning from this walk, the pups watched me, and in the true sense of "monkey see, monkey do", they started picking blueberries right from the bush! I felt a little like the mother from "Blueberries for Sal" by Robert McCloske. This is a popular Maine tale that involved a little bear cub getting mixed up with a young child when their mothers were blueberry picking.
